The day His Majesty took the throne to become the King of Thailand, on May 5th 1950, he said the following words:
“We shall reign with righteousness for the benefit and happiness of the Siamese people”
His Majesty took the vow to do so, by following these 10 virtues:

2 Maintaining good conduct
3 Working selflessly
4 Working honestly
5 Deporting himself with gentleness
6 Rejecting indulgence through austerity
7 Adhering to reason, not anger
8 Bringing tranquility through non violence
9 Overcoming difficulties with patience
10 Not doing that which strays from righteousness
